MDF Cut to Size — Laser Cut Panels
MDF cut to a size off the list. The cheapest way to get a flat, stable panel for painting, mounting, templates and one-off fixtures.
MDF has no grain and no voids, so it cuts predictably and stays flat — which is why it is the default for templates and paint-ready work. It is not suitable outdoors or anywhere damp; use plywood or acrylic there and we will tell you so.

Prices are ex GST; checkout shows the figure including it. Cut length is what drives the price alongside material — which is why a long thin panel costs more than a square one of the same area. Need a size that is not listed? Setup and proof covers bespoke work.
No minimum order
Most laser cutters will not quote a job under about $80, and add a file setup fee on top. We will cut one piece. If you need a single 150 × 40 mm panel, that is a real order and it is priced here rather than hidden behind a quote form.
What to expect
- Tolerance: ±0.2 mm. The beam has width, so parts are cut on the line and finish a fraction under nominal.
- Edges: some edge char is normal on any timber cut with a laser. It sands off easily, though plenty of customers leave it for the contrast.
- Movement: timber is hygroscopic, so a thin panel can cup slightly if it is stored damp. Keep it flat.
Sending artwork
Nothing to send — pick a size and we cut it. If you want shapes, holes or engraving on the panel, send SVG, DXF, AI, PDF or EPS and we will quote it. Vector files cut directly; a raster image can be traced but that costs design time and the edge is only as good as the source.
