Ridgy Cyclist is born!

Today we completed a custom piece for a client that involved bringing together two of their favourite things. The combination of the Rhodesian Ridgeback and the Bike, has given birth to the ‘Ridgy Cyclist’

We worked to bring the two loved items together to bring the details of the Rhodesian and some of the complexities of the of the bike to form a single piece.

The process:

After the original idea was floated, we set to work looking for assets. We used Creative Fabrica to quickly find what we needed. This allowed us to create a small working prototype. 

Our next step was to work with the client and enhance these two designs. We welded the two together and then enhanced the overall look. We did this by pulling apart the bike and setting specific areas to engrave. This increased the overall detail by making key elements such as the tyres and handlebars pop. We added further detail by engraving the name and adding additional elements such as the model of their own bike.

We then created this as small prototype before sending to the client, which they loved. With the green light from the client it was off to work on the real deal which was 3mm Plywood.

*Two hours later…

insert quality check: for such a large piece we determined that 3mm was to thin. So we fed the 3mm some more food and set to work again with a much beefier 7mm piece.

**Two hours later...

We have our ‘Ridgy Cyclist’ in all its glory and it's now on its way to its new owner.
